Seasons Greetings.
It’s been a while since the last major update and we’re still very slowly planning to add more content and updating pages.
Now for any Dizzy fans here, our sister site “Yolkfolk.com – The Dizzy Fansite” has also had some recent updates.

Now onto the news…
— RZX Archive
We start with some sad news, many Spectrum gamers will be familiar with the RZX Archive, its website and YouTube channel hosted a large collection of Spectrum walkthrough videos.
Darren Pearcy, the owner of the website passed away in 2021, meaning that the YouTube channel was no longer active.
And to rub salt in the wound, YouTube recently terminated the channel with all the Spectrum videos now gone.
This removal has not only affected various Spectrum websites, but its also heavily affected both our sites aswell.
Quite a lot of the game pages in our database are now missing videos as a result.
A few channels have recently launched on YouTube, including one from World of Spectrum who are all currently uploading various Spectrum walkthroughs.
It’s currently not known if any of the Codemasters games will be included in the process after reading on various Spectrum forums and groups that certain RZX files are not available to download.
Despite the concerns, we will still show our support to these new channels which you can check out via the links below.
— Yolkfolk on BlueSky
You may have already noticed that the front page has an extra social media button.
After reading that a lot of people are abandoning X (Twitter) for reasons we won’t go into on here, BlueSky has become a popular alternative.
Already, our new page on BlueSky has already attracted over 150 followers and counting.
It doesn’t mean we’ll be abandoning our Twitter page for the time being, simply because we like to reach out to as many Dizzy and classic Codies fans as possible, including the people who worked on the games back in the day – some who have chosen not to move to BlueSky.

— Codemasters :Retrogaming: Facebook group
For those who don’t know, Team Yolkfolk manage two Facebook groups with Indie Retro News.
One for Dizzy, and the other for Codemasters.
Now the Codies group has not had a great deal of activity lately, and any posts that do appear in the group have always been Dizzy related – Not that any Dizzy fans will mind that.
Sometime in the new year, I’m planning to make a post or two there to try and encourage the people who have already joined the group to share their fondest memories of the early years of Codemasters, share their game collections, their experiences with the games, and hopefully – official merchandise, posters and any other memorabilia.
I feel that trying to reach out to as classic Codies fans as possible will help us add more content to this site.
Now for the site updates…
— NEW PAGE: Unreleased
A new page has been added to the Games sub-menu.
The page lists the known cancelled Codemasters games that either never saw the light of day or ended up as an unfinished prototype.
This will help us keep track of how many unreleased games there are.
Each entry contains links to various sources that prove those games were to exist, a vast majority of these links go to articles from “Games That Weren’t” (hope that’s alright, Frank! 🙂 )
Because there’s a lot of unreleased games, the current list may not be fully complete and will be updated as often as possible, and as soon as I’m made aware of the games that aren’t listed there.
We’re not including the unreleased games that are now fully available to play. – Like the 4 NES Dizzy games and the Amiga version of Stuntman Seymour for example.

— Added “Dinobasher – Starring Big Nose the Caveman“, including downloads for the unreleased Master System and Game Gear versions.

— Updated logos for some Quattro collections, “Super All-Stars“, “Super Sports Challenge” and “Superstar Seymour“.

— Added “Crystal Kingdom Dizzy 2017” for the Spectrum.
— Added “Enforce” for the Commodore 64.
— Added “Q-Bic” for the Amiga.
— Play Online
— Added many Spectrum games, the ones that the online emulator will accept that is.
— Magazine Scans
— Due to overloading issues, the section has been split into 3 pages:
“8-bit Machines“, “16-bit Machines” and “8-bit and 16-bit Consoles“.
— Added scans from Amstrad Action, Amstrad Computer User, Amiga Force, Crash, The ONE Amiga, Sega Magazine and Sega MegaZone.
— Game Adverts
— Added 16-bit advert for “Monte Carlo Casino”, even though that game was never released on 16-bit platforms.
— Added more adverts from magazines.
— NEW PAGE: Game Music
Added to the Media sub-menu.
— The page lists a variety of classic Codies music all in different formats, a majority of them are not zipped.
— NEW PAGE: Game Posters
Added to the Media sub-menu.
— Added Dizzy posters from Yolkfolk.com.
— Added “Jet Bike Simulator”, Pro BMX Simulator” and “Robin Hood – Legend Quest” posters.
